This month’s staff spotlight features Ethan Wingrove. Ethan joined the Baker Holtz team as a full-time associate in the fall of 2020. Ethan grew up in Okemos, Michigan, and was eager to return to the mitten state after living and working in Columbus, Ohio after college.
Ethan attended Michigan State University for us undergraduate and graduate degrees. He earned his Bachelor’s in Accounting in 2018, and he went on to receive his Master’s in Accounting with a tax concentration in 2019. After graduation, Ethan went on to pass his CPA exams.
Ethan moved to Columbus, Ohio and worked at Ernst & Young upon finishing college. As much as he enjoyed the experience of living in Columbus, he wanted to return to Michigan. When he was hired by Baker Holtz, Ethan moved to Holland. He enjoys heading out to the beach and the dunes as much as possible, and he is happy to live closer to his friends and family.
If you happen to be in the Holland area, you might spot Ethan out for a run with this dog, Izzo. Izzo is an Australian Sheppard and Husky mix, and he is full of energy! In addition to running, he enjoys taking Izzo to a local dog park to play.
Being an MSU grad, Ethan follows Michigan State athletics and cheers on the Spartans. He has fond memories of sitting in the student section, better known is the “Izzone”, during college basketball games. Ethan also enjoys following his favorite Detroit sports teams.
A fun fact about Ethan is that he got to meet all of the students when he attended MSU. He worked for the school and made student IDs. It was especially fun to get to meet the MSU athletes!
Ethan enjoys working at Baker Holtz because of the positive work environment. He enjoys the camaraderie among his co-workers, welcomes the challenges that the work provides, and is excited about the opportunity for growth within the company.
