Jennifer Dougherty joined the Baker Holtz team as their marketing director in February 2021. She manages their social media accounts, their website, advertising initiatives, and she is involved in event planning. Prior to joining the firm, Jennifer worked in marketing for a manufacturing company in Holland in addition to doing various freelance projects.
Jennifer was born and raised in West Michigan. She attended Grand Valley State University and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in advertising and public relations. She returned to the classroom virtually to earn her certification in digital marketing science in 2020.,
Family time is a priority for Jennifer. She has been married to her husband Aric for nearly 20 years and they have two children, Emma and Colin. While most couples tend to eat out in the evening, Jennifer and Aric frequently go out for breakfast. Their favorite spots include Wolfgang’s and Real Food Cafe’. They also enjoy wine tasting and look forward to their annual trips to Traverse City each spring.
Jennifer loves spending time outdoors. She has been a birdwatcher her entire life and is especially fond of owls and pileated woodpeckers. During the spring, she scours the woods for morel mushrooms while keeping her eyes peeled for migrating birds. During the summer you will find Jennifer sitting poolside with friends soaking up the sun! As sad as it is to see the summer end, she looks forward to bonfires and football Saturdays (Go Blue!)
Jennifer enjoys music, although she admits that her playlist hasn’t evolved much since the 90s! She enjoys attending concerts and recently saw Toad The Wet Sprocket at Frederick Meijer Gardens. She is eagerly awaiting the return of Broadway Grand Rapids in a few months.
Jennifer is a self-proclaimed nerd who loves a good Star Wars or Star Trek movie. She is also a huge fan of the Harry Potter series and has visited The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios four times!
Being a marketer is very fulfilling for Jennifer because it allows her to be creative. There are always new designs to create, ideas to come up with, and relationships to build!
