In this month’s Staff Spotlight, get to know our associate, Mackenzie Sanders.
Mackenzie grew up in West Michigan and attended Grandville High School. She went on to attend Aquinas College where she played volleyball for four years. She graduated from Aquinas in 2020 with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and a minor in Data Analytics.
Mackenzie married her high school sweetheart, Garrett, in May 2020. While they had plans to have a big wedding, the pandemic forced them to make some changes. They were married in her aunt’s backyard with about 10 people in attendance. Fortunately, they were able to hold a reception for everyone on their original guest list in 2021.
Mackenzie and Garrett are puppy parents to a three month old cockapoo named Bo. He was tiny enough to fit in a hand when they first got him, but he continues to grow.
After playing volleyball at the college level, Mackenzie took a break from playing. She is just starting to play again, but this time, she plays for fun!
Mackenzie leads a high school youth group at Zion Reformed Church, and has gone on 15 mission trips. Next summer, they are planning a mission trip to Alaska where they will work at a summer camp.
