This month, our Staff Spotlight features Parker Griffin. Parker joined Baker Holtz as an Associate in 2021.
Originally from St. Louis, Missouri, Parker’s family moved to Hartland, Michigan when he was seven years old. He graduated from Hartland High School prior to attending Northwood University in Midland.
Parker received his Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and his Master’s degree in Business Administration from Northwood University. After graduation, he worked for BDO for two years. Due to the pandemic, most of his work was done remotely.
Parker enjoys living in the Grand Rapids area. The city is bustling with activity, but he likes the fact that you don’t have to drive far to get out of the city into more rural areas. Parker and his girlfriend, Anna, recently had their offer on a house accepted, and they are looking forward to being homeowners. They are especially excited to have a fenced backyard for their dog to play in!
River is Parker and Anna’s Blue Merle Australian Shepherd. At almost two years old, River is very hyper! Even after playing for eight hours at doggy daycare, she is still full of energy and ready to play after they get out of work. They enjoy taking River for walks at Huff Park, and their dog loves people!
Anna and Parker met while working at Target, and they have been together for over five years. Anna is an ICU nurse at Spectrum Blodgett Hospital.
Outside of work, Parker enjoys golfing with two of his brothers. While he is relatively new to the sport, he loves it and can’t wait to get out on the course this spring! Parker also enjoys ice, river, and lake fishing. Family is very important to Parker, and he is very close to his brothers.
Parker plans to become a CPA. Now that tax season is finished, he will have more time available to study for his exams.
