Alex Bos – Staff Spotlight

basketball player

Whether it is on the court or in the office, Alex Bos brings his positive attitude and great worth ethic to every situation.

Alex  joined the Baker Holtz team in the fall of 2020 as an associate. His main responsibilities are preparing tax returns, financial statements, and tax projections. His favorite part of working at Baker Holtz is the culture of the company. “Having co-workers who are friendly, willing to help, and teach me something new every day makes the days more enjoyable,” said Alex. He also enjoys working in the heart of downtown Grand Rapids.

Outside of work, you might see Alex out for a run. He is an athlete through and through and enjoys working out. Alex attended Davenport University his freshman year of college and played football. He then transferred to Calvin University where he was a power forward and center for their basketball team. While his days as a college athlete have come to a close, he still enjoys staying active and watching his favorite teams, the Dallas Cowboys and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.

Alex grew up in the Grand Rapids area and is a graduate of Grand Rapids Christian High School and Calvin University. During college, Alex was an intern at Mercantile Bank, Immaculate Flight, and Baker Holtz where he gained real world experience in accounting. He is working toward becoming a CPA.

Alex and Jordan

During the summer, you can find Alex boating on Gun Lake. He enjoys traveling, with some of his favorite destinations being Seattle, Anna Maria Island, and South Carolina. He also enjoys spending time with his girlfriend, Jordan.

Alex is a big fan of Italian food. His favorite place to get some pasta or pizza is Big O’s Cafe in downtown Grand Rapids. Luckily, it is conveniently located just up the road from our office!

Team sports have had a huge impact on Alex’s life, and they taught him lessons that translate to his professional career. In addition to learning how to be a team player, sports helped him to improve his communication and built confidence in tackling challenges. We are very lucky to have Alex contributing to the Baker Holtz team!
